titelines
I have a 2007 Sportsman X2 500 that has the original tires on it. They're in need of replacement and I thought I'd see what your opinions are on what I should get.I use it mostly as a utility vehicle. I haul wood, pull logs, plow, ice fish etc. I do some trail riding as well, but don't do any hard mudding or anything. The work I do is mostly on our property, so I'd like to reduce the rutting etc. as much as possible (although I know it's inevitable over time). As I read this it seems I'm looking for a good, dependable, all around tire. What do you guys recommend? Thanks!
KNIGHT
IMO, I would go with a radial tire. Most of the brands that are out there, I feel are of quality. I had a set of ITP Terra Crosse'S on my Rhino and liked them alot. Good luck shopping!!
K_Josh87
i had a set of ITP mud lites and liked them a lot... they may grab a bit more than you would like, but they arn't to bad in most situations I ran into, and gave good traction for pulling logs, or mud, or plowing... DRH1175
I am in the same boat. I am going to buy either Maxxis Big Horns or ITP Terra cross's both of these are a supperb all around tire, that are a huge step forward from OEM tires that come on most wheelers. Rippinlip
Maxxis Bighorns, good all around and will be my next set.I am currently running Maxxis Zillas, great for mud/snow.Not so great for roads and trail riding.Would you thinking about staying stock? fishingstar
I have mud lite xtr's with mixed feelings. they are radial and I over inflate to stop the soft side wall. great in the snow for ice fishing.I have a set of bear claws on a two wheel drive that are very nice.dan

OldBear
I also have 4 ITP xtra mud lites. A real gripper but not real front yard friendly.
