2012 Build

I started building my fishhouse last weekend. It is on a 6.5' x 14' plus v miltona frame. The floor is 1" think and is a product from Space Age synthetics. I still have to cut in a spot for the doors and windows. I got impatient and couldn't wait any longer for the door. I can only work on it on weekends and when I have assistance from people with carpentary skills, but so far it is going good and I am liking the way it is going to turn out. I will post more photos as I progress. Hopefully the pictures show upfull-21385-22054-cameraphone037.jpg

The floor is a fiberglass reinforced material, used in aircrafts, ambulances, and the marine industry. It does not rot, I went with the 1" 4ft x 8ft for $50 a piece. It is lighter than plywood, it takes everything I have to lift a 3/4" sheet of treated plywood bymyself, but this I was able to pickup and carry around and not be red in the face. These were "seconds sheets" which means they did not meet ISO 90001 standards. It has a textured surface and is very rigid. These boards had some blemishes on the textured surface and that is why they didn't meet spec. Below is a link:

I purchased my sheets direct from them, they had an add on the popular list site, I picked mine up from them since they are only 2 buildings down from my work. I don't know if they have been tested, but in the ad they advertised for fish house floors. I did have a sample this winter and did my own testing (dipping in water and then leaving outside) and it held up just fine, it doesn't really absorb water. If you are interested I have a chunk left I could send you, just PM me your address and I will ship it spee-dee tomorrow.
