cherokee
Gonna do some boating around the Apostle Islands (first time) and I just want to make sure I have everything required on board (aside from the usual life jackets and working lights) I bought a new fire extinguisher, secured my batteries, horn works, put in a bucket for manual bailing. I have two way radios with weather band, not sure if this meets coast guard requirements or not? Compass and gps.May do a little smallmouth bass fishing and some deep water trolling for lakers (hopefully). Really do not plan to get out away from the islands.Any items you think I am missing or should have? Any tips appreciated. Thanks,Dale
tunrevir
You will want to pick up some hand held flares, a signal flag, signalling device like a whistle or horn, throwable pfd with rope attached. You can buy the big lakes kits at most outdoors stores for about 35.00 or so. A drift sock is always good in case you lose power and 300' of anchor line and a good anchor, also, just in case.
