Where to find Muskies on Waconia?

I'm planning on fishing for muskies on Waconia on Wednesday afternoon for a few hours. I have to go to the cities for a work meeting and want to fish this lake on the way back home. The problem is I know nothing about this lake, other than it is good for muskies. I've never seen this lake before. My cousin will be bringing a boat with us, but where do we go from there? What part of the lake is the best? Is Waconia big? Oh yeh, I've only gone musky fishing once before so I don't know much about lures either. Will a bucktail work? Thanks for any help in advance, I'll need it.

#1 buy a lake map it's not a huge lake but it's not 300 acres either.

Hit the Reefs and the shoreline all the way aroung the island. It shouldn't be too hard there will be at least 10 boats fishing for Muskies out there.

I really don't want to spend money on a lake map. I'll only be fishing tomorrow for a few hours and that's it. This lake will probably just be this one time thing as it is to far of a drive from home. Any more advice would be greatly appreciated....LEECH

Get a lake map off the DNR HSOforum..

Try around the beach area. Throwing topwater early. Then try around the island, throwing bucktails. There also is and underwater point the goes from the island and points directly at the houseboat throw bucktails there running them just above the milfoil and cabbage.
