Does any one have a guide or a link to a run down of the different bass techniques and the type of rods that are common to use for them. ? I'm going to the big C tomorrow to look at rods and need some starting points. Thanks in advance!

yep. that and so many companies have technique specific rods for bass that say intended uses right near the handle. If I had to pick one rod it would be a 7' medium heavy fast action. you can do a lot of stuff with that rod.

Thanks all, I ended up with a W and M Skeet Reese 8ft flipping and pitching rod mounted with a lews speed spool. I love this technique! And now have the right set up to maximize the effect. I thought the rod was a good fit for its price IMO. And the reel is fantastic! I fished it about 6 hours today on Tonka and missed to hits with a 5/8 football jig tipped with a modified craw trailer. Tough weather ... Ended up sitting under bridges a lot. Anyone else have imput on the new combo? Good and bad?
