Hey I have a question for you. I have a 870 barrel smooth bore fixed choke with rifle sights.

My idea is to get it done so I can use a turkey choke or a rifled tube for slugs,is this doable if the barrel thickness is their. Or do you have another recommendation. The thing is I would really like the rifle sights for turkeys and a rifled tube to stabilize the slugs.

It shouldn't be a problem, I have only come across 1 Remington barrel that wouldn't accept choke tubes. Also in my testing, I have found that a rifled tube is equally as accurate as a fully rifled barrel out to 100 yards. Give me a call or keep looking for an announcement for when the new shop is up and running, it can easily be tracked by searching for gunsmiths in Becker.

The barrel would need to be measured, there are maximum bore diameters and minimum wall thicknesses that need to be met to install choke tubes, it you go too thin it will either swell the barrel or the tube will shoot out.
