Co-pilot

The little remote for the co-pilot on my trolling motor keeps draining the battery. I've taken it apart but its just a tiny little circuit board. Been taking the battery out when not in use. Time for new one or is there a fix?

What makes you so sure it is the Co-Pilot remote that is draining the battery? If you are taking the battery OUT of the remote that would be impossible since no signal going from remote to motor.

I have had very little trouble with my Co Pilot remote and have used it since they created it several years ago. I think it is a GREAT little tool.

I'd check for another cause.

I have a co-pilot for a Powerdrive V2. I accidently bought it thinking it would work for my Powerdrive, oops. $75 if you want it.

I'm talking about the little round watch battery inside the remote. The main motor is unplugged when the boat is not in use so there shouldnt be anything "on" as far as a power source. The last 2 trips out its been dead so I throw in a new one and its fine. Took the battery out after yesterdays fishing so somehow that little remote is draining the battery in a day or so.

Man, that's a pain. They don't come out easy. My guess is that it is sending a signal like if a button were stuck. Must be going bad IMO.
