Clear Lake (Tiger Cat chain) Muskie?

Staying on Clear Lake 12 miles east of Hayward in early August, is it worth bringing my muskie gear? Any info on lake is appreciated, Thanks

The Tiger Cat chain is a strange muskie fishery. It is loaded with small ones around 30", but for whatever reason there are a few mid 40's mixed in there. Honestly I think the natural fish in there are small, but some migrants get in that have the genetics of normal sized muskies.

Absolutely, bring the gear. They do run smaller around there, but there are quality fish still too. Nearby Callahan Lake is known for small muskies too and it just gave up a 53". Try some bass fishing on Clear, I've done well in the small basin. If you launch a boat at the public access beware, it's earthen last time I went and getting stuck is easy! Good luck!

Clear itself lacks structure except for a bottleneck by a bay towards the south end. Mostly weedline fishing I would assume. Water clarity probably won't be all that great despite the lakes name. The rest of the chain is very shallow and weedy, but I do not think you have access to that from Clear.
