Jerkbaits

I'm giving my humble gland a pretty good workout in a mixed bag league becaus I'm new to catching northerns. Everybody seems to use Berts weighted baits. What are some other tried and proven jerks? I need a weapon.

Couple I'd look at are 9" Suicks and ERC Hellhounds, and not technically a jerkbait, but a Magnum Bomber Long A.

Thanks RK, we backtroll about 1 1/2-2 MPH and jerk, is that technically jerking? It seems alot of the stubbier baits want to roll at that speed.

You can tune Suicks to troll just fine - may have to monkey with bending the tail a little to get it to run straight. Bobbie baits are another good trolling jerkbait, as is the Musky Mayhem Little Daddy.

Best trolling jerkbait of all though, (IMHO) is a Sledge. I'd really look for a 6" Sledge.
