Lake Alexander in Cushing

Anyone go to Alexander today? What were the conditions(water temp,weedgrowth,etc.) on Lake Alexander today? Muskie sightings or catches? Thanks

fished it yesterday. water was low 60's, saw one laying in the weeds. had 2 little ones follow. pretty slow, didn't see any caught. lots of boats, haven't seen that many out there in a while.

Thank you Shamalex for your help. I have not fished Alexander and my son and I will be fishing muskies there in 2 weeks. Sounds like they're a lil sluggish. If the weather holds and water temps warm it could be good. Any help is greatly appreciated as I would like to see my son catch his first on a lake that we have not been on and are new to the area. Thanks again for the conditions as I am trying to figure out where they might be.

Fished Alex from about 5pm to dark on opener and saw 1 fish. Not sure if it was a late follow or if I flushed it from the weeds with my trolling motor. Pike were active. I caught 6 pike including a nice 31 incher.

It's all about localized weather and water temps in the early going, fairly cool morning, fairly calm, light wind, sunny opener, and a ton of boats = why I stayed home. They'll fire up pretty soon when we get some decent musky weather. They won't fire up because they haven't seen a lure in 6 months. Good Luck !

The clear water and sunny calm conditions over the weekend were not the best for grinding it out for a full day. Had some lazy follows and lots of pike. Figured everyone hammered them Saturday since nobody was on the lake until 6am on Sunday

When I got there Saturday, I launched at the bigger access on the west end. There were rigs parked on the road! First time I'd seen that lot overflowing.

Go try big DL on opener and see how far down the highway you're parking and that's 1 ramp out of 4-5. It is why we could make use someday some new waters. The real musky season begins after labor day. This is just practice until then.
