Ottertail County

Hi Guys

I was wondering if a trip to some public ground in Ottertail county would be worth it to try and take a bird have tried around home here in Clearwater but haven't seen or heard a bird in a week or so. thanks

most of the public land around here is prairie grass and wetlands, not ideal for turkeys

oh okay I've been looking through the dnr web site at WMA's and most in Ottertail say that they hold turkey but thank you. Just trying to make a last ditch attempt.

You should at least check it out if you have time. Might find something for future hunts.

Don't be afraid to knock on a few doors if you see birds on private property. Many will allow folks to hunt turkeys if you ask.

On paper looks like a good area within a hour or two from home with a more huntable population. I think I'm going to give it a shot and head down. Hoyt I think you're right who knows if I don't head down. I'll also give it a shot Borch going into unknown area will most likley call for some run and gun style anyway. thanks guys

Last Wkd drove by a WMA and saw quite a few turkeys so your chances you never know.
