stand concealment for bow bear

Recommended Posts

Minnie boar an i are X-bowing for bear this year, I usually have our two man anywhere from 30-40 yrds from barrel-crib. Although i go to some lengths to make sure my stand blends into the surroundings, this is even more criticle the closer yu get. i know bear for the most part know ur there, but to what lengths do you guys go to, too help conceal your stand, especialy if you use a two man. Im adding a supports to add burlap so I acctually have an enclosed box like stand with shooting windows to help eliminate figity young un' an Mr. bad back. Anything else you guys to do breack up a large stand? Thanks Boar

I always try to remember it's not so much what is in fromt of you is it is whats behind you. If I can get my stands in a clump of evergreens all the better. Just carve out a tiny shooting window in the branches and thats it. I am looking real hard at using more ground blinds for bear.

Ive to thought of using ground blinds but two things stop me, pop ups work great but do i set it up prior to hunting an risk having courious bear destroy it, or risk poping up just as your hunting an risk having a wary bear not like the new addition. I could i guesse use the natural surroundings to build one, this would make more sense. that just gave an Idea, I could use just the plateform of the two man an strap it to ground level of a tree an use sapplings an brush to an burlap to create a good blind. Thanks jonny, two heads are than one. I think this would work.... the weheels are turning now.. Boar

Not that I have a ton of experience, but I have been using the pop up blinds for 2 years now. Last year I put them up when I opened the sites and never had a problem with a curious bear. I did try and keep them back 30-40 yards from the crib. I like your idea of using the platform and making a natural blind.
