lispeej
The wifey and I caught some channel cats today. I've already skinned them, and steaked them out. I want to try smoking them.Anyone had done this yet?I still have some dry brine left over from when I smoked my steelhead.I just want to know what others are doing and if they think smoking catfish the same way smoking steelheads will be any good.I used "thirdeyes" recipe last time.Thanks. pushbutton
You should be good to go. While I have only wet brinded them.....smoking is smoking. Keep in mind catfish don't have as much oil in them as the trout.
stoneeyes317
I just smoked some northern for a friend last weekend using the same type (dry) of cure you used. I can't believe that catfish wouldn't smoke up just as well as any other fish...eyes317
