Gus
I'm just getting into musky fishing. I've got the rod and reel covered, I've got a couple of jerk baits, one crankbait and I just lost my only musky size bucktail. I thought before I went shopping I would ask for some advise on baits. Under a budget of say $50-$75 what would you put in your boat?
TECK
Not much Money but I would go with a RAD Dog spinnerbait,Phantom jerkbait,Shallow Invader cradk & twitch and Giant Jackpot topwater. I could go all year with them baits
Corey Bechtold
Gus, If you fish the metro area I would recommend bass size spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. These Muskies have seen it all. Sometimes the smaller baits will turn more fish. This is also a great way to save some money. Good Shopping. Corey Bechtold
Gus
TECK, Thanks for the tips. I'll check them out when I get to the store. Thanks.Corey, Thanks for the good tip. I should have plenty of bass/pike sized baits in my box so I'll keep that in mind if I ever fish a metro area lake. Most of my fishing is done north though. Thanks. SCCO9803
Gus, I would suggest using a plain hook and bobber. Don't use any old hook though, get one from a saltwater store for Sharks. Then what I do is go to a grocery store and buy one of those pre-cooked rotissere chickens and hook that on to the shark hook. Just cast her out and wait.
