Stumped by My Lowrance

Question

Had a Lowrance Mark 5X-Pro black and white unit hooked to my Minnkota Power Drive, one year old, universal sonar. Wanted something better bought a color Lowrance Elite 5 Finder/Plotter. Plug looks the same on both, and fits. Hooked up the Elite 5 to the cord..nothing. Won't even power up. Mark 5x works OK though. Took Elite 5 to the store. They hooked it up to a cord on the display shelf hooked to a Mark 5X Pro.....fired up OK. OK....what am I missing?

Just because the plug-in shapes on the back of the units are the same, it doesn't mean the wire connector prongs are the same inside the plug. It depeands on the options of each unit and how they are connected to the unit inside the cord and plugs. wink
