can i turn down the detail on my lowrance? loading slow.

I have an older lcx15. It could be that its just an older unit,but I was on tonka the other day. Which is unfamiliar waters for me. The map was so detailed that it was slow to load. So slow that it couldn't keep up at speed. Not exactly the best thing for new water. I realize the unit is old,but it works great for me. wondering if there is a way to turn down the detail so it could keep up......thanks

Have you done all the updates on the unit? Could be the map card is to much for the unit also....

Yeah,I brought it to cabelas and they said it was updated as far as it could ever be. Maybe time for a new unit.

What card did you have in it?

There is a menu you can turn off things on the map. Im not sure exactly how to tell you to get there

Zooming out when running will speed the refresh speed also, so it doesnt have to draw all the detail, then zoom back in when your fishing.
