Gapen's Polish Pike Lures

Anyone other pike hunters remember those
pike colored, wooden lures?? My gramps had
a few and did those things ever catch fish.
They were called "pikies" I think. I've always wanted a modern version, and was
waiting for the Rapala crew to get a clue
and make one. Well, my wait is over. The
Gapen crew has come out with the "POLISH"
line. Besides the pike there is also a
perch version. I grabbed up the 8 inch
pike and marveled at the nearly identical
look to a hammer-handled pike.

I can't wait to get this thing in the water
to test the action. I will report back
when I do.

I remember seeing something about these oin another forum a few weeks back. I took a look a the site they posted and they look pretty sweet. Is there any place in the metro that carries them? I may want to give them a try.

You could try Thorne Bros. they had them at the Muskie Expo, they should still have them in the store. Really a great lure!

I plan to give them a try out there in the open water. ;-)
