Chamberlian WD822 garage opener

My door will stop going up or down once in a while.I push the control and then it will resume its course. All contact,rollers etc look fine. Do you think it could be a bad CAPACITOR that would do this? Thanks for any help.. DrJ...

I don't know that you could blame a bad cap for this. It sounds like a bad connection / loose wire or maybe one of the stop sensors are too close to something and tripping early.

first thing i would check is the sensors on bottom of each side, i have had it where cob webs, spiders, dead bugs can cover it up over winter, then u start cleaning garage in spring, stuff gets blown around from wind and almost anything in front of those sensors can stop it on an irrelgular basis. the sensors, make sure drive belt is well lubricated, and there are also internal adjusters inside may need a slight go over

Check to make sure the eyes that goe across are lined up. Maybe it got bumped out of wack just a bit.
