ID by song, not by sight

The hubs and I were working out in the farm yard this morning, and heard a few birds making noises that sounded like water dripping into a bucket. He was looking at the hydrant, which was not running, until I told him those were birds. Didn't see them, since they were holed up in the pine above the pet's water dishes.

Any thoughts?

When I listened to the calls on three of four sites, it didn't quite match. There is no shrill whistle on the end, and no chattering coming from the trees. Could it be that they don't always complete the "typical" song? The sound is so much like dripping water, it is amazing.

After it warmed up a bit yesterday, the birds were more active and flying between trees. Definitely a brown headed cowbird. I had just never heard them quite like what they sounded like yesterday. It was pretty neat.

Thanks for the help, guys!
