split ring size

I have purchased blanks for 4 7/8 inch flutter spoons and am wondering on the best size for the split rings for the hooks and the line tie . What is the guide line/rule ?Thanks for any input.

Cheers; I can't help with what size to use, but! If you do a search for Janns netcraft, they have charts you can down load that shows the actual sizes of components such as split rings, hooks, swivles, blades, etc. These charts have helped me ALOT when choosing components.

Thanks I had found that .Charts show sizes but don't recommend what size to use . There must be some rational out there .

Split ring sizes can be pretty confusing and there is really no rule on what size to use. I suggest taking a trip to any large tackle store, grab a spoon the size you are thinking about then mosey on over to the terminal tackle section and compare what is on the spoon with the split ring selection. That will give you the size number you are looking for, and purchasing the split rings at that point is less expensive than online with shipping.

Save the package and one ring for future reference.
