TonkaBass
My buddy and I saw a brown pelican yesterday. Just wondering how rare this is for Minnesota. Got a picture of it too
Dbl
That would be very rare. I did see someone reported a possible brown pelican on Tuesday in Bloomington in the MOU listing. Post the picture and let us take a gander
Wayne Ek
That would be a rare one around here. I'm sure it's related to global warming some how.
beakgeek
Can we know where this was and see the picture?
TonkaBass
Here's the picture. Not the best it was from a cell phone and we got it just before the bird flew away.
Jim Almquist
Was this at Lake Minnetonka and what bay ? When a rare bird to the area is spotted it would be nice to verify the location and the exact species. I am sure there are people on MOU that would love to see this bird. I know I would. Jim Almquist
Really like them all Terry but that 3rd shot with the water droplets is very sweet!!Glad you were able to find this very cool looking Pelican!
beakgeek
It was difficult to get a clean background on this bird since the area it was flying in had grain elevators, boats, and docks in the background. It was awesome to watch it fish right in front of us.
