St.croix legend tournament

I am able to get a st.croix legend tournament musky rod for 60% off. I am only able to get one rod. I am new to muskies and would like to know what would be a good all around rod. I have a gander 6'6" heavy and I am looking to get one more rod that will be good all around. Which model should I get. I am not worried about keeping it in a rod locker so length isn't an issue.

Big Nasty unless you plan to throw pounders a lot. If you do, get the Big Dawg. You can throw just about everything with the Big Nasty.

I've had the Slingblade for two seasons now and love it. Throws everything very well except pounders. Jerkbaits, topwaters, bucktails of all sizes - no problem - also trolls well. I suspect the Big Dawg would also be a great option but I haven't had my hands on one yet.

Given the opportunity though I'd grab another Slingblade in a heartbeat.

Got a Slingblade and a Big Dawg (as well as a dozen others) and the BD is the best rod I own. I can throw about 80% of the baits I have with it. I would STRONGLY recommend it, especially since you don't have many rods currently.

I like "The Jerk" good rod

The Jerk is the best jerkbait rod I've ever used (got that one too lol). However, it's not a great all around rod IMOP which is what the original poster was looking for if I'm correct.

I do have to say though, the big dawg is a decent jerkbait rod as well. I throw my mag treats on it and it's fantastic. It's a little big for small-mid gliders though.

9' big nasty or 8'6" sling blade would be my recommendations.

That new Long Ranger looks real nice! But throwing pounders and double tens all day is not something I prefer to do.
