Areaway coverings

I have what's called an "areaway" attached to the back of my home -- it's the first I've seen, but apparently they're being used on newer homes in lieu of egress window openings -- my existing areaway is 32 feet long and 4 feet out (from the exterior wall of the house).

My question is -- any contractors out there that know of options for coverings for these? Aside from re-doing my existing deck (currently 24 feet wide) and widening it another 8 feet, I can't seem to find anything online that would work.

I realize a picture would help -- will take one tonight and attach tomorrow.

Thanks everyone!

confused Yup You got me, Maybe just put up a lot of signs that say walk on my yard at your own risk... then you can't be sued, lol... maybe add one that says "she usually shoots high on the first shot..." Yeah... I can do some watching see if I see something that catches my eye on the subject... but I cannot say i have seen anything that would work great....
