March 18th 2012, Hennepin County, near Excelsior. Hoping for no more freezes from here on out. I noticed some Alpine Currants starting to leaf, too. The lilac I believe is a Canadian Blue Lilac. Sorry about my shadow in the background. I'm still an amateur photog. smirk

I noticed that here in southern Minnesota as well. The gooseberry bushes in the grove are leafing out too as are the Elm trees. I have never seen the likes of this. I hope a sudden cold snap and deep freeze won't hurt these.
