Mississippi muskies

How far south does the muskie's territory extend on the Mississippi River? I fish mainly pools 4 and 5 for pike and have not encountered any muskie. So has anyone caught any muskies much futher south than the twin cities?

TG, I haven't fished or even been on the river north of Lake Pepin, and I don't know anyone that fishes this area, either. I did see a map of the River this weekend and It said that there are muskies in Lake Pepin.
Does anyone have any confirmation of this.

Muskies are prevelant all the way up to at least Andrusia. I have caught them casting top water from shore right in the metro area.
Right now is not a good time because of the high water and fast current.

Terry is right!
The river does hold Muskies from the start, all the way down. Lake Pepin is great and nobody fishes them. Like Terry mentioned, with the high water they will be up along shore and within casting distance, from shore. Look for current breaks. (wingdams, rocks or downed trees)
