Good lakes for newcomer?

What are some good lakes for a newcomer to muskie fishing? Are there some lakes that have good numbers so I could see some fish at least? I fished the north end of mille lacs once and had some follows. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Harriet in Downtown MNPLS has a ton of muskies, a lil gunshy though with pressure...

Independence has muskies, some good numbers, as does Waconia. Tonka does also, but its a pretty big body of water...

I live in the Brainerd area. I'm just looking for some lakes that might be easy to fish. Preferably in the north part of the state.

hi, im from the northern part of mn. i live in grand rapids and some lakes around here and a lil north to start with would be big moose lake. they have an excelent fishery. north star, deer lake and if you can find it its a lil lake up north on highway 38 called orange lake. there all shoepac skies in there but its a good lake to learn how to pattern muskies. theres many many fish but there no public axcess. you have to drag a canoe or small boat in. its worth it though. good luck!!!!
