mtreno
well i started the casting last night - later in the season then normal but its muskies here on till ice. had one nice fish give chase right to the boat - never saw him again. boat partner gave the "ok shes going to hit on this cast" so i put down my rod and started watching..... had not even pulled his top water bait more than 10 ft and smash! the whole fish was out of the water! partner gave her about 2 seconds and when the line was about ready to pull he smacked her. she was on for about 10 seconds but some how missed the hooks. boy was it cool to watch her jump - and the fact that we had been casting close to three hours and he called one cast on that was the one. great evening on the water even with the few small stroms that thought they could scare me off - they will have to try harder than that! Steve Foss
That's happened to me too, once in awhile. You develop this certainty that this one's going to be the one, and it is. Strange how that happens.
Guest
mtreno,Great story, nothing more exciting than a musky on a topwater bait!
stephendawg
Love that story. It IS uncanny how you get that "Feeling". I get a "Pee Chill" when I'm that confident in a fish's position and attitude. You don't even have to see her. You just KNOW she's there. It's one of the most enjoyable parts of the sport.------------------...if I only had more time off!...Dawg
