Portable storage

I use a system, the Racor PHL-1R Pro HeavyLift 4' by 4' cable-lifted storage rack. Right now Amazon.com has them for $127, which is a good deal as the regular price (for Amazon) is $210. At the time I got mine I bought them at Menard's. If you google them, most people recommended heavier duty screws than they came with, and I followed that advice. You attach the support arms to the rafters in your garage, and the raising is by turning a hook at the end of the center piece. As turning this is slow, I inserted a pole with a loop at one end into my power drill, the loop engages with the hook on the Racor, and the platform moves easily up or down. I think you can also lock it into position.

I have 2 fully insulated portables, a 3-man and a double-wide 6-man, both from Canvas Craft Inc., and I store one on each lift. Fabric is stored in a container to assure mouse-proofing, but probably could have been left on. Can drive car under them once raised. Have been very happy with quality and function.

Good luck.

I have been happy with the Racor as well. Not cheap, but heavy duty and handles it with ease. I park my SUV under it. Had it about 2 years now w/out a problem. I just check all the bolts/screws everyone in a while to tighten up anything that is loose. The other thing I did was used lumber to span four rafters, in order to spread out the load, just to be safe.

This is what I was looking for thanks! I tried multiple ways of entering portable storage in the search, and what I was looking for never showed up.

Thanks again
