Ticks out already in Fargo/Moorhead are

Just got word that a club member was out at our retriever club grounds over the weekend and picked a couple ticks off his dogs already. If you're running your dogs, applying topical already wouldn't be a bad idea.

Yep, on the club grounds. I was out there on Saturday and they weren't around yet but possibly the right around freezing and most of the day above freezing on Sunday let the hatch out.

they are unbelievable little basswerds; i read an article from the UofM on deer ticks and they will be out on a warm day 35-40+ in the middle of the winter (normal winter), so I would believe it, going to go with advantix for the dog this year and permethrin

I've been very happy with K9 Advantix as well. For heartworm I use off the shelf wormer from fleetfarm, Ivermec.
