Dead stick on crappies

I'm mainly a walleye and pike fisherman so i dont really go after panfish that much. Will it work to just use wax worms and a bobber on a dead stick? Usually when i have tried for crappies I tried crappie minnows, but i want to use a different presentation to better my odds

I've found that a waxie under a minnow will get some fish. Usually they'll come in and look at your jig, than hit the motionless dead stick. Its always worth to change it up and try new things.

Always worth a try. We however have our best luck with a minnow under a slip bobber on our non jigging set-up. The fish will tell you what they want.

Sometimes it's the only way to catch'm. I even deadstick just plastics. Works.

My best luck this year has been on a jig and waxie with a spring bobber tipped rod. My best guess is I out fished the minnow 2 or maybe 3 to 1

Same here. Even with a minnow on a spring bobber has been money for me. Get a quality spring bobber setup and you'll never want to fish with a float again.
