Lake Trout Open Seat

I would HIGHLY encourage anybody to take Todd up on the offer! I've been up there twice this winter already, and we have done very well. His cabin is very nice, and the lake is absolutely beautiful. The fishing is awesome too. Pipestone has a great average size for trout. If you ever wanted to try Canada lake trout, this is the year. Good ice and little to no slush compared to the last couple of years. There is a good chance you won't see a single other fisherman your entire trip.

This is a pretty typical Pipestone trout:

I'm jealous, Todd! If it wasn't for a little thing called work, I'd head up there with you!

I have all the equipment, tackle and sleds......all you need to do is show up in International Falls this Sunday night. Help with gas, groceries and buy a lisc.

Peak fishing for the month on the solar lunar tables....should be awesome!

What a temptation! I wish it was just a couple weeks later.

Be sure to check on the passport requirements. I could have swore last spring when I was in Canada that a passport was required to get back in the US. I could be wrong though, that passport requirement thing has been on again & off again a number of times for at least the past 4 years. I got a passport 5 or 6 years ago just because I didn't have to wonder if it was required.

ENTERING CANADA

Citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States need a drivers license and birth certificate or form of citizenship (passport) to enter Canada, but ARE required to have passports in order to re-enter the United States if 18 years or older.

To assist officers in expediting the process, especially to re-enter the United States native-born citizens MUST have a passport and should carry a birth, baptismal, or voter’s certificate. Proof of residence may also be required. Naturalized U.S. citizens should carry a naturalization certificate or other evidence of citizenship. Legal, permanent residents of the United States who are not U.S. citizens are advised to carry their Alien Reg. Receipt Card (U.S. Form 1-151 or Form 1-551). Persons under 18 years of age who are not accompanied by an adult should bring a letter from a parent or guardian giving them permission to enter Canada.
