testing musky lures in non musky waters

What is the legality of throwing musky lures before season in a non musky lake? I have a small resivour that is pretty clear and would like to go out and practice working some of my new lures. The only fishery it consists of is panfish, bass, and catfish. I couldn't find anything in the regs other than the season times to address this. If you are throwing these lures where there are no muskies you can't be musky fishing right? Your take? THanks.

Couldnt you go bass fishing with those lures

Throw them in any body of water with a northern in it and you'll be fine. Might even catch a couple.
