shozbot
I love fishing Mille Lacs and Winni for Jumbos. I have both the Navionics and Lakemaster chips for my Lowrance. I have read that perch are fish of the flats, but like to stick close to breaks with access to deep water or areas that transition from mud to gravel, etc... My question is this. (Assuming that the map is fairly accurate),,,,when looking at a strucure such as a gravel bar or mudflat, what is the better option when trying to narrow down a spot to try ? A large flat are near the sharpest break on the reef? An inside turn? A shelf on the edge of the reef/flat? The deep water just of the tip of a pont on the reef or flat? Or a more gradual break? I tend to try to find inside turns adjascent to mudflats or gravel bars. Just like to see what others think.
Purpledescent
Personally I have had the best luck fishing in deep water off of a point. Caught some real nice Perch yesterday afternoon fishing jigs tipped with a small minnow in the deepest part of the lake. But hey, maybe I could have caught more siting somewhere else. Just sharing my experince.

monstermoose78
its mainly finding the food source. I normally fish mille lacs mud flats breaks or the flats or edges or gravel sand. I have also done well in the middle of no where between flats.
Mr.Perch
years with little or no snow cover you can find green weeds 12 FTW look for a hole in the weeds bare bottom 10 to 15 ft across it can be a great thing on Winne, and Osakis do not know about Mille Lacs.
