Ice auger governor adjustment

I run an Eskimo auger that seems to me to not run at a high enough rpm. I can reach under to a tab and turn that which increases the rpms to what I think it should be. But, I can't figure out how to adjust it to stay. And maybe I shouldn't even be messing with it. Seems low though. Anybody own a manual or have knowledge about this?

No knowledge on that particular motor but i would suggest finding out why the rpms are low to begin with. My guess without hearing it run would be crud in the main jet of the carb.

Give it a good once over and if that doesn't help then i would look at adjusting the gov.

One could always call the company for the setting for that auger.

I would agree that if you need to adjust the carb or other setting that it may be another issues.

Did it at one time run well and now the issue has risen? If so, that would tell me that a carb cleaning may be the needed fix unless someone waas playing with some setting that you do not know about.

I should have explained better. It runs great, starts easy, just seems like it should spin faster.

Dont know about eskimos, but on older white head jiffys there is a high sped an low speed carb adjustment, but to adjust the high speed you have to have it runing at high speed an have someone turn the adjustment till it hits the higher rpm, lke 3/4 turn from seat. But best is to call eskimo, maybe down load a owners manuel from the net. boar
