90 artic cat prowler 440 clutch sticking

out fishing today and making short runs on the lake it seems like my clutch would stick when i would go to pull her over to start she would jump forward. i would have to pull on belt to get it free. can i just spray it with somthing or is there a special way to clean. thank you

you may have a broken clutch spring

Don't spray anything on the clutch, they are meant to run dry.

I would start with the spring also, you should be able to visually inspect it and see if it's broken.

If the spring looks ok, then I would look at the clutch weights, the bushings in there can wear out and cause them to bind and stop the clutch from falling back in.

We have blown belts before too and chunks of belt have gotten down in there and prevented the shiv from coming back in as well. If you can collapse the clutch, look for debris down in there.

MN Mike i looked at the spring its the green spring not broken. is it possible that it was alittle warm that day and sticking from the daughter running around on it. Today i took it out and guess what it worked fine but its 20 degrees colder?
