Anybody out there using this powder to load for a .243? I am planning on trying to load this for a .58 grain v max... but cannot find any load info

for anything lighter than a 70 gr bullet. Any ideas on where to start would be great... thank ya!

Call hornady or hodgdon. They will probably give you any info you want. They may have tried that combo and did not get very good results.

I know any time I call nosler I just give them what I want to use and they give me the min and max load.

Good luck and good shooting!

Well, I think it is mostly they have not tried it, I have not called anyone on it... however, There is really NO info out there about anything other than a 70 or 75 grain... and its minimal (whats on the canister) I did however do a fair amount of research on it on line, and put some observations together, and noticing things about other calibers info etc. and noticed a trend compared to other powders... So I gave it a whirle today, starting at 51.8 grains behind the 58gr vmax... and went all the way up to 53.2 grains, without any real signs that I could see for high pressure.... and not quite to a compressed load (most loads I found trended to a compressed load in the info I found) I had my best groups out of 52.6-52.8 grains... (52.6, loaded two sets of three in this, and shot a .6" group at 100 and a .75" group... with a 10-12 mph wind... I found some things interesting with this powder though.... It leaves a black residue in the barrel, it looks like a very lights ash type substance... barrel looked terrible, but when I cleaned the gun after 30 rounds... it was actually very clean on the patches... it works very nicely in the powder measure and measures very consistently... I wish i had a chrony so I could compare to the h414 load that has been working comparatively well for me... they claim higher FPS with the powder. So, at the end of the day, I will probably load some rounds up with this powder to burn it up... maybe keep it on the shelf a bit to see if it works better with a heavier bullet, but the h414 is cheaper, and uses less per load, saving me pennies, with similar accuracy... not sure about velocity though... So, That is what I have found with it!

I just looked at a 6mm-06 custom mauser today I think that would be a super hot load and probably have a really nastey burn out down range.

the neighbor down the road has a custom also that is a 22-243 and when I see him next I'll see what he thinks he's a reloading nut also.
