SkunkedAgain
Joel Maturi announced his retirement as Gophers athletic director, effective this summer. I have blind optimism for the incoming AD as most of the athletic programs have nowhere to go but up. Had the hockey teams not turned things around this season, they all would have been terrible. CJH
I assume that means Kaler decided not to extend his contract. He's 1-0 so far in my book!!!Time for some fresh blood that actually wants to support the revenue generating programs.
bbfenatic
Kaler still has to give the AD "thumbs up" on budget which determines what level of coaches we can get, what facility upgrades are approved, what assistants we can afford, etc, etc. If Kaler is confident in his own ability he would not be afraid to hire a real "go getter" but if he is like many he will hire someone he can "step on" and will worry the AD will be more popular than he, thus we will go no where.
