How to make a Digger Auger Carrier quick release?

why not just mount a u channel to your bumper then just lay the auger rack in the u channel, drill a hole at each end through the whole works and get some pins to hold the rack in the u channel...Not sure how much sense that makes but im sure I could draft you up a good picture if needed....if it works like I think it should, at the end of the trip just pull two pins and un mount the auger rack.

Wing nuts didn't work.

That would be great if you feel like drafting a picture. Would it be able to be very tight in the u channel?

Thanks.

I did try mounting the rack on the back of the snowmobile too. The cover does fit over the rack but I do not like how it fits. It seems like it could possibly wear the cover down where it hits the corners of the rack. I think it would also cause the cover to do a lot of flapping.

or you could just mount it on the back. grin

Do you have some gear or something on the back that you are unable to mount it there? I have some simple Mad Dog gun fins mounted to the back of my sled and have NEVER had an issue with bouncing around, snow, etc.

With the rock solid Digger mount, the back grab bar seems like the most logical place. Plus it allows you to secure your cover over the nose of the sled which is for more important for protection that it not fully covered in the back and the best part is that you can always keep the mount on.

I do not have anything on the back of my sled. I would like at some point to mount some kind of basket or just a plate so that I could secure gear so I don't have to pull a gear sled. I also like having some of the weight up front instead of all the weight on the back of my sled. I do think that the mount would be a bit more secure on the back tho.
