Look in the general areas that already have rocks like Wayzata bay and then look for a sharp dropping point, sunken island or bump as that usually indicates a hard bottom. Verify with the vex and how thick the red line on the bootom is. For walleyes, find perch in the area early and then make sure you are fishing eyes from sunset to 1hr after sunset. Peak time is 25 minutes after sunset. It usually slows after that but large eyes can be caught into the night.

I have been having luck on the mid lake rocks look for the humps where 40-60 fow comes up to 30-20 ft out in the middle of the lake most of those are rocks. there is tons of these spots on tonka.

I have also seen lots of BIG eyes come out of the weed edges tonka is a strange lake.

the tip about the perch is very important on tonka if your not being bugged to death by perch at 4:30 your not going to catch any eyes at 5:45.

no perch = move for me

right before sunset the perch dissapear and then the action happens sometimes for all of 10 mins! make sure your ready. I keep rods with bobbers tied up with bait on them then dunk the bait in the bait bucket so I can cash in on getting more rods in the water as I catch fish it happens fast on tonka.
