10" auger blades screws???????

Are the screws that hold the blades on to be flush (lazer Mag)I have an iceing problem after about 3 hole not pleased at all after 3years with this thing I have tried the pam spray and same results. Is there any difference between chipper blades and reg. blades???

good question--I was thinking of dumping the lazer mag bit and going the "chipper" route. I picked up a supposedly resharpened blade set and am not impressed with the cutting of them........

I love my lazer mag. I haven't had any problems with the bolt placement on the blades. You will notice a dramatic slow down in cutting when switching over to the chipper blade.

Do you change out the bolts when you replace your blades?

I should also add that I have never had any luck with "re-sharpened" blades. They just don't cut very well.

Always bought new blades and at the rate it cuts now the chipper would only inprove I'm thinking also with the way it has run out of the box I might look at a different brand I have alot of friends with one of the other top brands and they always seem to run better cutting speed is the same and they cut more them 3 holes before you have to de-ice the blade which is some times hard on gloves.

I had used longer then usual screws for the blades---ground them down to just about flush with the blades-----cut like a champ tonite. Thanks for the tip

The only time I have ice up that prevents cutting is when I let friends borrow my auger. They always seem to set the auger, blades down, in the snow after drilling. Do that a couple times and she's iced up. Lay it down horizontal and I don't see any problems in even the coldest weather.

I must have a defective auger then it ices up in between holes never set it down in the snow when I'm not useing it it's back on the wheeler with the guard on I clean it up (Blades) for the next time but I can not get past 3-4 holes.

Wow, yeah I would contact Strikemaster and see what the solution is. They have great customer service. I have a 10" lazer mag and I can cut holes like crazy with that thing. I'll punch 20-30 holes sometimes and fish them, and I ca pick it back up and get right back to it if I want.
