Who's heading out of state?

Going to the Black Hills for the first time turkey hunting. For those that have been out there before... What town would you recommend we stay in.

We stay in Hill City. We like it cause it is centrally located and there is good hunting not far out of town. And if you do want to hunt elsewhere it isn't all that far to drive. We tried staying in the edge of Rapid City once but found ourselves driving back towards Hill City so we still prefer it. And cabins or hotels are reasonable that time of year. Where we stay they have only raised rates up $5 in something like 10 years. So we pay $55 for a smaller cabin and it is perfect for 3 guys but we have made it work with 4. Still even at 3 guys it is affordable. And Custer is always a good option too.

I'd agree that both Hill City and Custer are good options for places to stay and quick access to good hunting ground.
