TroutYammer
What's the best way to find fair market valur for used outboard motors? I have a nice motor from a friend's estate (low hours, great shape) and looking to sell it. Any body know what a ballpark selling price for a 25HP, Four Stroke, Short Shaft, Electric Start, Manual Tilt 2006 Mercury should be or the best way to find out fair marlet value? Larson15
use NADA
BrandonN
Maybe Im wrong but NADA never seems to be accurite for boat and motor value. Seems like its about half of what its actually worth. The older it get the worst it gets.
JohnMickish
The best way to find the value of an outboard is to check out dealer websites that list prices for their used motors, online auction sites and online classifieds. See what the asking price for it is and figure a dollar amount from there. It is hard to put a firm price on a used motor because what it really comes down to is it's only worth what somebody is willing to pay. All of your research may show that it is worth "X" amount, but if you can only get "Y" for it, then it's really worth Y.
Brad B
I would start it at $2000 but take no less than $1800 if it was me. it all goes back to the time of the year you are trying to sell it. if you can hold on to it until spring then you might get a better price for it then if you sell it now.
