Sounds like it could work if the fish are really active or maybe just the opposite, when they're turned off and that may trigger them.Bumping lures is running them into rocks, wood, weed stalks. Not just spinnerbaits. Any lure, and most often lipped crankbaits, can be bumped. USPENAMC Posted September 20, 2002 Share Posted September 20, 2002 one day i was casting out spoons and on my cast the spoon got tangled and running sideways so it was splashing on the surface and i got a bass on the retrieve so i went ahead and kept casting normally but everytime that my spoon got tangled and it ran sideways on top of the water i got a few strikes caught 2 bass and 1 northern that way go figure.
