shorefishing for pike

i am in need of ideas of lakes that have opportunities for catching northerns from the shore. thanks

You might consider the mississippi river, depending on where you live etc.

There is a decent pike spot in the fall at the Pioneer spillway near Wabasha.

Other spill ways and lock and dams can provide real nice pike, producing the occasional trophy.

I don't know where you live.

Consider wading, especially if you've got some lakes with deep weedlines close to shore. You can get fine chest waders at Walmart for $30, or just go in jeans and sneakers.

Nothing like being in the water with a 10-lb plus pike swimming around your belly. Yikes!

And with waders, if you've got one place you can access the water, you don't have to worry about trespassing, like most shorebound fishermen do. Those property owners don't own the bottom of the lake.
