leech~~
Anyone been out Snowshow rabbit hunting? Those poor things must be sticking out like snow balls right now. Mother nature kind of played a bad trick on them this year!

Mother nature kind of played a bad trick on them this year! No doubt they are easy prey for the hunter
leech~~
Well according to the amount of replies there aren't a whole lot of people out there trying for them either? May have to go out after some before it really does snow!
Powerstroke
I've been out a couple times late in the season for various reasons and I have yet to see a bunny. I did see a small weasel of some kind that was a hawk or owl kill that had been dropped. Not sure why he couldn't find it since it was the only white thing on the ground, but who knows. huntnfish
When I was a kid I loved hunting snowshoes, especially late in the year with no snow. They were also everywhere back then. Like Powestroke, I've yet to see one this year out hunting.
leech~~
We use to hunt them up in the Badoura State Forest when most of the pines were really small and the place was infested with them. We would actually do drives with about 8 guys and they would come popping out of everywhere. Man, I would love to get into them like that again! Gordie
I used to own 40 acres just outta Hackensak and it was really good shoe hunting around that area also. I could never find enough guys to do the drive thing but thats how we do cottontails in southern minnesota drive them like deer and let the posters have fun
Fins-n-feathers
Last weekend we went for snowshoes north of Duluth, there was actually a couple inches of snow but it was cloudy and they just weren't out
mainbutter
Haven't had the opportunity to get to our land since deer firearms season.. was planning on trying to hunt rabbits for the first time ever this winter, grand delusions of trekking across 3' high snow in my snowshoes, tracking after a fresh snowfall, and getting a few in the early morning hours with a blowgun. At least I've had the opportunity to give ice fishing a few tries this year.
