Bluetooth jawbone type headsets

I'm wondering how effective something like this would be in a noisy shop environment. I wear earplugs and was thinking I could leave one out and use a jawbone in that ear. If the noise was to bad at least i could walk away and continue talking. Do they have an earbud style fitting to work as an ear plug while not talking?

Can you use these on a cordless phone, or just mobile phone? I use a VoIP setup now through Vonage.

I use a wireless headset in a noisy server room. Dang near as bad as a few machine shops I worked at in the past. There are a few depending on the phone, that will work for about 100 ft away. But those headsets are not cheap, close to $300 a pop.
