Jiffy Model 30 Problems

I had received a Jiffy Model 30 from my dad who had not used it for a few years. Brought it into the shop and had the carb rebuilt. It starts like a champ but it catches on bottom inch of ice and I have to raise it up and get it running and ram it through the bottom inch. Blades were sharpened last year just wondering why it loses power on the last inch of ice. I have fresh gas and oil in it. Bad engine? Gear problem? Any advice is appreciated just trying to avoid having to splurge on a new auger

Make sure the blade is tight.

Are you using the old blades? Dull blades can catch on the ice.

Make sure the blades are installed right,the should be bolted so the blades are on top of the main auger if they are under you will have that quarter inch that will catch every time.
