New pike rod

I am looking into building a new pike rod. I want a 7'6" rod for casting 2 oz spinnerbaits and blade baits. What weight rod do you guys use for casting the bigger lures for pike. I was thinking of a flippin stick blank with a med heavy or heavy action. Any suggestions?

The flipping stick blank should work well. How big/heavy the lures are you will be using will determine what blank you will want.

I like medium heavy, but heavy might make it easier to throw heavy baits.

What kind of line are you throwing them on? How heavy of cover do you mainly fish? How fast do you fish your baits?
