nbenny
Three of us fished Bitter from Wednesday thru Friday and did pretty well. Fished from 14-18 foot of water and ended up taking home 72 perch from 10-13 1/2" and 15 walleyes from 17-21" and 6 northern from 24-29". All and all a very fun trip. Ice was ok with wheeler traffic and no vehicles. Lots of people fishing on the main lake, but a ton of unfished water also.
Jarrod32
Got out and fished Bitter today. 18"+ of solid ice...people were driving and lots of permanents out. Not a lot of snow cover, so easy to get around. We fished 28' of water...we marked a lot of fish, but they seemed to come in, take a look, and leave the bait. Jigging didn't work. We caught everything on deadstick/slip bobber set ups. Like I said, lots of lookers, very few takers. We did manage a bucket of 13 nice perch between two of us...ranging from just under 10" to about 12"...most were between 10 and 11 inches, though. greenhead4u
Been out here since Friday and have only iced a hand full of perch. We have seen alot on camera but they are tight lipped! Moved around some and marked alot of fish in the dead timber but no takers. The early morning has been best for us. Hoping they are hungry this evening! Jarrod32
Yeah...it seems that they have been that way much of the winter. We caught very few while jigging; just about all of the perch we have caught on Bitter this winter have been on deadsticks or other subtle, small presentations. We hit the north end of Lynn Lake today...perch were a bit more aggressive, but we still found a lot of lookers that wouldn't take. We ended up with a nice batch of perch at the end of the day, though...I came home with nine nice ones and we were probably throwing back two or three for every one we kept.
