Where/how to weigh my ice house

I got a new (old) permanent ice house this fall, its 6X8 and made of plywood then 2X2 studs then plywood and pink sheet insulation in between inside and outside plywood walls. The roof is singles (large sheet shingling, not like houses).

I have no idea how much it weighs and am hesitant to pull it out on to a lake (with 4 wheeler, or by hand) till I know.

My guess is its between 1000 and 1250 lbs.

Does anyone know of a good way to weight it, I was thinking a truck scale, weighing vehicle and trailer only then with ice house on and subtracting.

However I don't know any gas stations close to the north metro area that have a scale (roseville/shoreview/white bear lake). I know there is a trucker one off the highway in forest lake but can public use that?

Any information would be helpful, also if anyone had a similar house and knew what it weighed that would be nice too thanks

You could try a landfill (at least I know the one near us has a scale), many or most feed stores/CO-OP have large drive on scales. You should be able to find the weight of your vehicle in the owners manual so you should have to just drive across the scale with the house subtract from truck weight and have the house weight.

You can use a scale at a truck stop. Almost any place that weighs trucks will let you weigh it if they are not busy. I weighed mine at a scrap yard. Just dollied it down right on the scale and they weighed it. A grain elevator will also have a scale. Most will do it for free but I give them a ten when I leave for there time. I like knowing what the trailers weigh.
